Aurora creates a nurturing environment, where people who are in pursuit of personal growth can work through life’s challenges and move towards greater wellness. She brings a unique combination of a Nursing background, Somatic Experiencing, Reiki and other modalities to form a partnership with clients on their journey to wellness. Somatic Experiencing is a body-oriented approach to healing trauma and other life stresses. Survival energy from life’s experiences gets bound up in our system and can lead to a variety of symptoms including anxiety, depression, numbness, fatigue, chronic pain, digestion disorders, a weakened immune system and sleep disturbances among many others. Using a combination of talk and therapeutic touch, Somatic Experiencing helps individuals develop awareness of, build capacity for and process difficult bodily sensations and emotions, facilitating the gentle release of that bound up survival energy.
Aurora’s focus is to meet you where you are at, to honor and respect your experiences and to create the conditions to allow healing to unfold. She believes that we each have an innate capacity to heal and she is grateful to be a part of each client’s healing journey.

My dream has been to open a health clinic that promotes a holistic approach to health: offering both counselling and esthetics to work on healing, relaxing and balancing both the body and mind.
I am wholeheartedly passionate about helping people reach their goals of improved mental, emotional and physical health. I believe that holistically uniting counselling to clear the mind with the benefits of rejuvenating esthetic services, help clients feel relief, confidence and connection.
I have a long road of education and experience behind me that has allowed me to realize my goals and follow my passion. I have published several articles and book chapters related to these topics and have spoken at many national and international conferences, sharing my research with other experts in the field. I have also won several awards for new research concepts including weight management therapies.

As a young child I yearned to understand how other people’s experiences influenced the way in which they navigate, or felt trapped, in their world. I continue to have this wonderment both inside and outside of the counselling space but now have the tools to help explore these blocks and barriers on a deeper level with clients.
As we begin to better understand the origins of our thoughts and emotions, we can begin to bring balance to our lives. This is why I approach therapy with a trauma informed lens to provide psychoeducation, mindfulness and other therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to bring about an inner awareness that leads to change.
